So the first day I walked in as knowing nothing about photography or even how to use a camera other than my phone. When we got our first I was so confused and just followed my friend Kiara who knew a bit more and tried to get some decent photos for out demo projects and composition projects. The were pretty decent photos for knowing nothing but I started getting used to using the camera and setting up shots. Then we started learning about shutter and aperture and we played around with depth to field and action photos. Over the weeks taking Monday photos I got used to using the shutter and aperture options. We also got to learn to take portrait photos with studio lighting and bounce cards. It was hard trying to fit the person in Fram right without the the bounce card being in the photo. But now I know how to use the camera in auto mode, manual mode using shutter and aperture, and action mode. Also titling the camera for portrait and using a bounce card to use the natural lighting. I also learned that it takes time to prepare photos instead of just point and shoot. I learned lighting is very very important for photo quality. For photo shop I had never even used a app like it. The closest thing to editing photos I had even done before this class were the filters on instagram and snapchat. Our first photoshop assignment was pop art. We were given very detailed specific instructions on how to edit the photo of us using the color. That then confused me a lot but I did the assignment. then we had to get another photo I used a picture of my cat and do the same thing with different colors. Our second assignment we were given a picture of a red car and we had to edit the photo using the clone stamp tool to match the edited photo we were given. I was still really confused but I was getting better. Our next assignment seems like a long time after but it was the multiple me assignment. We had to take multiple pictures of a friend (Kiara) and then edit them in to one photo. This assignment was one of my favorites it was so much fun using layer masks and editing the photos together and it looked so cool in the end. Next we had Polaroid, dash of color, and the assignment to research photoshop assignment and do them. The one I liked most was my watercolor photo of Kiara it took a lot of work and tons of layers but looked super pretty. We also had to add frames around our portrait photo and enter them and overall just make the photos look good. And last we did visual puns and the dictionary assignment. For visual puns we looked up puns and recreated them in photoshop. For the dictionary assignment we chose words and defined them then created a background the represents the words. I also loved the dictionary assignment because at this point I have gotten somewhat used to photoshop and had lots of fun creating the backgrounds.

Visual PunsWe were assigned to look up visual puns and represent it in photo shop. So I chose milk mustache, Taco Bell, and butterfly. For the dictionary assignment we were assigned to choose a word and define it then represent it in photoshop. For the word "trance" I chose a picture of a girl outdoors then edited in trees, dark clouds and a foggy overlay. For the word "Haze" I chose a picture of mountains then took the same image, flipped it and made it smaller to create the effect of more mountains. Then I also added in a image of the moon and a blue spotted overlay to blend the images better.
Our assignment was to take pictures over the week or weekend that displays a technique or type of photography. I chose to take pictures of the train depot when the sun was setting. The picture is taken with a 1/1600 shutter speed, and a 3.6 aperture. I edited the photo in photoshop to make the contrast better. I learned more about using outdoor lighting, and how taking photos in the evening effect the results. Also using depth or zooming to help your photos and get closer to the image.
Original Photos Finished Assignment For this photoshop assignment we had to take portrait photos outside and in the studio then frame them in photoshop. I learned how to use a reflective sheet to make the light bounce from the window on to the other side of the persons face. I also learned more about taking portrait photos and getting used to framing the person that way. And lastly I learned more in photo shop with resizing the image and creating the frame without much instructions.
Our assignment was to take pictures over the week or weekend that displays a technique or type of photography. I chose to take pictures of my friend Kiara and edit it to black and white. Which falls in the Black and White category. The picture is taken with a 1/30 shutter speed, and a 5.6 aperture. I edited the photo in photoshop to make it black and white, brighten, contrast and create aesthetics for the photo. I learned that its hard for people to stand still for photos and how lighting outdoors effects the photo. Also using depth or zooming to help your photos. Also I learned more in photoshop about the black and white and contrast features.
We had an assignment to find tutorials online for photoshop. WatercolorGalaxyDash of ColorPolariodI learned a lot more about the tools, filters, and brushes in photoshop.
